Let’s Draw!
Step 1: Start by drawing a big circle, making the bottom a little bigger than the top to create a visually appealing silhouette. This slight variation in size will help to convey a sense of dimension and character in your drawing. As you execute this step, ensure that your hand is steady and confident, allowing the circle to take shape smoothly, while paying attention to the proportions to maintain balance.

Step 2: Next, draw two ears with a small curve for details, positioning them at the top of the head and tilting them outward. Draw two circles for the eyes in the center of the face, making sure they are evenly spaced, and add a bright glare to give the lion a fierce look. For the muzzle, draw a big oval to highlight its strength, and place a smaller oval for the nose just above it. Finally, add gentle curves for the mouth, tilting the corners slightly upward to suggest confidence, and consider adding whiskers for extra detail.

Step 3: Draw a big curly circle for the Lion’s mane, making sure to include lots of loops and swirls to capture the wild and majestic nature of this king of the jungle. As you create the curls, vary their sizes to give the mane a lush and voluminous appearance, ensuring that it radiates outward and symbolizes strength and bravery. Pay attention to how the curls can overlap slightly, as this adds depth and texture, making your lion come to life.

Step 4: Start by drawing one of the front legs, capturing its shape and stance. Add small curves for the toe details, which are important for realism. Make sure the joints are smooth, and think about how the toes naturally spread when the animal stands. This detail will make your drawing look more lifelike.

Step 5: Draw the second leg with two small curves for the toes, making sure the lines are smooth to show movement. Start by outlining the leg from the ankle to the knee, focusing on keeping the proportions balanced with the first leg. For the toes, create two rounded curves at the foot’s end to accurately represent its shape.

Step 6: Start by drawing a smooth curve for the back side of the Lion, highlighting its powerful shape. Focus on the slope from the head to the hindquarters to show movement. Then, draw one of the back legs, ensuring to show its strong muscles. Illustrate the bend of the knee and the position of the paw to convey stability and grace as it supports the Lion’s weight.

Step 7: Lastly, draw a line for the tail and curve it at the end, making sure it blends well with the design. Focus on the curve to improve the illustration’s look. You can change the line thickness for added depth and interest, creating a more dynamic effect. This detail will enhance the final piece, giving the tail a natural and smooth appearance that fits with your artwork.
