You may print it on an A4 sized paper or if you want to draw on a smaller scale, you may print 2 copies on one A4 sized paper.

Let’s Draw!

Step 1: Start by drawing a big curve for the top of the head. This curve forms the base of your character’s face, so make it smooth and balanced. Next, add another big curve for both cheeks, ensuring they match well with the top curve. The cheeks should be round and full, giving your character a friendly look. As you create these lines, think about how they connect to the chin and jawline to achieve a cohesive appearance.

Step 2: Next, draw a big smooth curve for both ears, making sure they are rounded. You can slightly reduce the curve size at the bottom to show the unique detail of an elephant’s ears. Take your time adjusting the curves to create a realistic look. Ensure the ears appear to flop outward, reflecting their natural shape and giving your elephant a charming expression.

Step 3: Draw the trunk of the elephant. You can decide whether you curve it to the left or right, depending on the expression you want to create. Once you have established the general shape of the trunk, consider adding additional curves to form the smiling mouth, which will bring a sense of joy and playfulness to your elephant. Take your time to experiment with different angles and lengths, as the trunk can vary widely in appearance; you might also want to include details like nostrils or small creases to enhance its realistic look.

Step 4: Draw two circles for the eyes, making sure they are the same size for balance. Add glares to make the eyes look lively and sparkling. Next, draw two small curves above the eyes for the eyebrows, setting them to show the character’s emotions. Be careful about their angle and shape, as they change the expression. Also, add curves inside the ears for extra detail and realism. You could include some shading around the ear edges to enhance depth and make the character appear more lifelike.

Step 5: Draw a large curve for both sides of the elephant’s body to give it a rounded shape. This curve should slope downward to suggest weight. Then, connect a smooth curve for the back legs, making the elephant appear to be sitting comfortably. As you work on the legs, ensure they are thick and properly aligned with the body to reflect the elephant’s sturdy build. These details will make your drawing more lifelike and interesting.

Step 6: Draw both front legs, ensuring that they are proportionate and aligned correctly with the body. As you sketch, be attentive to the angles and joints, allowing for a natural stance. Once the basic shapes are in place, make sure to add additional toe details, which will bring a sense of realism and depth to the drawing. Consider the different sizes and shapes of the toes to reflect the character or species you are illustrating, enhancing the overall appearance and adding texture to the feet.

Step 7: Lastly, draw curves for the elephant’s skin details to make it look more realistic. Create gentle waves and folds along the body, mimicking the natural patterns of an elephant’s skin. Remember to add a small tail at the back, ensuring it’s the right size for your drawing. You can also enhance the trunk with light lines to show its flexibility and include details like the ears, which add to the elephant’s unique character.
