Let’s Draw!

Step 1: Start by drawing a big curve for the top of the head, making it round for a natural look. Add a small curve in the middle for feather details that enhance your drawing. This small curve helps show the transition to the feathers, adding texture. Take your time to get it right, and think about how the feathers will flow from this point for a more lifelike appearance.

Step 2: Next, draw smooth curves for the left and right cheeks to create a natural look that fits the face shape. At the bottom, add curly lines for feather details, which will add a playful texture to the character’s expression. This focus on detail will bring your drawing to life, making it more engaging and visually interesting while highlighting the softness of the feathers.

Step 3: Draw two large circles for the eyes to create a friendly look. Inside each eye, add a big circle for the iris that is vibrant and a small circle for a sparkle that adds charm. Position the sparkle towards the upper part of the iris to mimic light reflecting off the eyes. Between the eyes, draw a curved line for the top of the beak and another small curve for the bottom, which helps complete the beak. These details are important for achieving the friendly appearance you want.

Step 4: Draw a wing on the right side of the body using a curved line that loops back to the bird’s side. Make the curve resemble a bird’s wing. Inside the wing, add four gently wavy lines for the feathers, varying the lengths to represent different sizes. Include three more wavy lines for additional details, enhancing the realism and beauty of your bird illustration.

Step 5: Draw a big oval shape for the body, wider at the bottom for a cute, chubby bird look. This shape is important for the design and adds to the bird’s friendly appearance, making it instantly likable and approachable. You want to ensure that the curves are smooth and gentle, enhancing the overall cuteness factor. For the other wing, use gentle curves on the left side, remembering to mirror the softness of the body shape to maintain a cohesive look. Consider adding slight indentations to suggest feathers and give the wing a bit of texture, while keeping the playful and whimsical design intact, as this will enhance the character and personality of your bird illustration.

Step 6: Draw two small feet with curve lines for the toes, taking care to ensure that the shapes are proportionate and comfortable-looking. Start by sketching the arch of the foot, creating a gentle curve that extends outward before curving back to shape the heel. Once the basic outline is established, add details like the separation between the toes, ensuring they are rounded and soft in appearance.

Step 7: Lastly, draw the tail feather, ensuring it has a graceful curve that adds character to your creation. Don’t forget to add curvy lines on the chest for additional detail, which will enhance the overall texture and depth of your drawing. Take your time to refine these features, as they bring the artwork to life and showcase your unique style. Great job!

Did you know?

Eagles are big, powerful birds with super sharp eyes that can spot their food from really far away—up to a mile! They have strong beaks and big talons (claws) that help them catch fish, small animals, and even snakes. Eagles are amazing flyers and can soar high in the sky without flapping their wings much. They build some of the biggest nests of any bird—sometimes as large as a small car! Eagles are often seen as symbols of strength and freedom because of the way they fly so proudly through the air.
